The wife of a motorcyclist who died following a collision in Crawley has paid a heartfelt tribute to her husband as police continue to investigate the incident and renew an appeal for witnesses.

Valera Sharavara, aged 39 and from Crawley, was riding a motorcycle involved in a collision with a bus on The Boulevard at 8.22pm on Thursday, 4 June. He sadly died at the scene from his injuries.

Paying tribute to Valera, his wife said:

“It is with the heaviest hearts that we honour the incredible life of Valera—a devoted husband, a proud father, and a truest friend.

“Born in Ukraine, Valera brought so much strength, warmth, and integrity into this world.

“For 21 beautiful years, he was my rock and soulmate, sharing 15 years of marriage and a love that built a beautiful life from the ground up. His greatest pride and joy will always be his three wonderful boys. Valera poured his whole heart into being a dad, and his love, guidance, and spirit will live on forever through his sons.

“Valera was a deeply loved son, a cherished brother, and a true cornerstone to his close circle of friends. He was a man who always put his family first and could always be counted on by those fortunate enough to know him.

“Valera, you are missed beyond words, but your love lives on in your boys, your friends, and in every heart you touched. Rest in peace”.

Detectives are continuing to investigate the circumstances of the collision and are renewing an appeal to help identify the driver of a white Mercedes who may be able to assist enquiries.

Officers have identified that the Mercedes was travelling westbound along The Boulevard shortly before the collision and believe the driver may have witnessed events in the area that could assist the investigation.

Despite extensive enquiries, officers have so far been unable to identify or speak to the driver.

Lead investigator, Detective Sergeant Ian Foxton, said: “Our thoughts remain with Valera’s family and loved ones, and we remain committed to establishing the full circumstances of the collision.

“We are particularly keen to trace the driver of a white Mercedes as we believe they may have information that could assist our enquiries.

“If you were driving this vehicle, or if you recognise it and know who was driving it at the time, please get in touch with us.

“We would also continue to urge anyone who witnessed the collision, or who has dash cam, CCTV, mobile phone or doorbell footage from the area, to contact police if they have not already done so. Even the smallest detail could prove significant.”

Anyone with information is asked to email [email protected] quoting Operation Carver.
