Police are appealing for witnesses and information following a serious assault in Chichester.
The incident took place at Chichester canal, close to the A27 bypass with Stockbridge Road, in the early hours of Thursday, 7 May.
The victim, a man in his 40s, reported being assaulted by a man and a woman there, and later attended hospital.
Officers are actively investigating the circumstances, and can confirm a 36-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm. She has been bailed, pending further enquiries.
Anyone in the area at the time who saw something suspicious or with relevant information is asked to come forward and report information to Sussex Police online, quoting serial 136 of 07/05.
